How to apply for driving license in Nepal

First go to https://applydl.dotm.gov.np/register

Please open your account and follow the procedure below.

Phase 1

All the below details will be reviewed and verified by the office. After Verification, you will be able to move to Phase 2.

Note: Once verified you will not be able to change the details.

Step 1: Add Personal Details

Step 2: Add Address

Step 3: Add Citizenship Details

Step 4: Add Passport Details

• If you require your passport number to be in license

If you already have a license 

1. Required Step: Add License Details 

2. Optional Step: Urgent SmartCard Printing 

• If you have not got smart card yet
• For this you have to select appropriate reason and upload the documents as proof of your application.

Phase 2 

1. Required Step: Medical Report 

• Select the desired doctor 
• Visit the doctor for the medical test 

You must be eligible according to the medical rule set by government. If doctor rejects your medical test, you won't be able to apply for license or apply for new category.  

If you pass the medical test. You will have to upload medical report provided by the doctor in the portal, which will be visible when doctor marks you eligible in the system. 

Medical Test results will expire in a month time. 

2. After Medical has been passed

Apply for Driving License

• If you already don't have a license
• License can be only be applied according to Motor Vehicles and Transport Management Act, 2049 (1993).

Urgent apply for new license or new category 

• This service is available for both new license and new category. You can apply for urgent while you are in the process of applying for new license or new category.
• For this you have to select appropriate reason and upload the documents as proof of your application.
